Sub is easily removable for track days.
To be honest I will be doing some set up work on the ICE with a view to dumping the sub in a month or two.

You can hear the bass, but I've tuned it so it's not over powering but it means (when combined with good components) that you can at least hear the radio with the roof down.

Oh, and if you want better sound, the first thing to do would be to get rid of all the stuff that makes your car noisier (intake, exhaust, gearing etc etc)
