Default strut Brace + Fipk

After buying and receiving a spoon strutt brace that I am over the moon with I have just fitted it:

Basically it is pushing down on the fipk heat shield rubber top and the plastic tube of the fipk.

Its up tight to the fipk, doubt it will do any damage but just to check will this be ok?

Anyone else had this issue?

Mike

Engine vibration may saw a hole in the intake unless you secure it somehow.

My setup is different and avoids this:

Mike, I picked up a Tanabe brace from a member on here some time ago and had the same issue, hence it's not on the car yet. Plan is to cut the FIPK surround down a bit and replace the rubber. Only needs a small trim.

Or simply remove the strut brace, I doubt you'll be able to tell the difference.

FWIW I have a strut brace which is mostly useful for leaning on when topping up the oil.

Roger that!

And the FIPK is really just for the aural effect despite K&N's claim of 7-horsepower (or similar).

Yeah, I have both!

would be a shame to sell the spoon brace as it is brand new.

Will see of I can solve the issue first.

The fipk is staying no matter what!

Sell the brace and get braces for under the car. The rear spoon brace was very noticeable IMO

I have both and don't have any issues (I think)
