How did you get the coilovers out, did you have to remove the top wishbone or can you just drop them down and out?

Yeah removed the two bolts for the upper arm, no need to remove it completely i.e the ball joint, that lets you pull the wishbone out the way and slide the shock absorbet out.

Now, there may be a trick to do it with the wishbone in place, but I don't see how. The bolt came undone very easily, was surprised for a 7 year old car.

Oh man, I have coilovers to fit so I hope my bolts are free, are they the geo bolts...how do you get the geo back to normal or are you going to get geo reset? I was hoping not to touch them...

Since I'm lowering the car I'll be getting the geo redone anyway.

Gbduo - you really need to check that the bolts are free prior to even get thinking about the coilovers, unless you have time that you can do without the car and some spare cash. Fitting the coilovers without knowing about the geo bolts are free can lead to disastrous results, especially if the ride height is altered.

FWIW, geo bolts are those with cams on them. Have a Google image search to see what they look like.

IIWU, take your S to autolink uk ltd in upper swanmore. They can tell you which ones are seized etc, and won't charge much. Knowing the baseline before fitting the coilovers is paramount IMO.

Yeh I agree Matt. I was going to go to TGM be because he is closer and the car needs an MOT and service anyway. I completely forgot to check before getting the coil overs. Ah well!
