Default Strengthened rear subframes

A lot of folks have added a beefed up rear lower bar but I wondered which other areas of the rear subframe allow flexing and found these.

They seem to have picked up on the rear of the subframe where they have added triangulation and a bar joining the two main tubes. Also reinforcement around the suspension pick up points.

Wondering about making a bar to join the two main tubes at the back, which in tandem with a Cusco type lower bar could make a big difference.

Also found a plate to go between the front upper wishbone pick-up points. They say the welds in this area have been found to fail in racing use.

Sort of looks intuitive, in a Lotus-7 sort of way.

Not sure photographing it on its back will help the comprehension of the ininititated though.

Might be (an expensive) idea for those running super-sticky rubber on a racetrack.

My personal doubt is it goes against the ethos of "just add lightness" which the S2000 so desperately needs.

I agree, an expensive prospect and really only for racing use, but I was more interested in anything that can be learnt from the reinforcements made.

The tube added here (arrow) could be something doable to complement the lower bar which is easily changed.

As standard there is only thin sheet metal there.

That end's already closed by the sheet steel bulkhead.

The other end, where the leading arms of the lower WB AND the toe-control links mount is very open.

It's almost as if that underbrace should be somhow triangulated.

Also, the bloody oil filler's awkward enough as it is!
