Afternoon guys,

I've got this strange metallic type noise on my car that is a little bit concerning. I'm hoping someone could shed some light on it. It happens when pulling away at normal kind of speeds. It seems to get faster with acceleration of the engine. Doesn't seem to be wheel speed rotation but could be wrong. It sounds like it's directly in front of my as the driver. It's more pronounced when cold and in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. But I can still hear it faintly in the rest of the gears. Any help will be appreciated. I'd love to try and explain it better but am struggling. It's like a fast creaking tapping sound. But it's not in the top end of the engine, so it aint going to be the clearances etc. Any ideas????

I've got a noise that sounds vaguely similar. Sounds like water running through the central heating system in a house and is only there when the car is moving. Sounds pretty similar to yours, IMO

Not sure what it is, but it's done it since i bought the car.

I wouldn't of thought it'd be the brake pad wear indicator. But I will check. If you imagine an old camping bed with all those little metal springs.....when you get on it you get that metallic creaking sound? Well, it's kinda similar to that. Coasting with the clutch in, it doesn't do it at all I don't think. Only when the car in under load. It's an odd one.
