Strange idle problem

Sorry, i haven't got around to cleanin anything yet but i have changed from BP ultimate to Shell Opyimax and that has helped

Changing fuel will not help an idle issue, that's more likely to be random / placebo. The diffience is those 2 fuels is largely the RON number, a number which really is related to it's susceptibility to pre-detonation.

It's V-Power BTW, Optimax was several years ago.

I meant if he may have had a dodgy batch. I remember when my local tesco actually had an issue where they closed the momentum pumps because of so many people complaining with car trouble.

That was excess silicon contamination IIRC, which was damaging 02 sensors - this would cause rough running whilst driving and poor mpg.
