Chris, almost as quick as this!..... I just read your post, looked up Chipsaway in Yellow Pages and phoned the Telford guy. He was just 1 mile away on his way to someone else in Shrewsbury and he's coming here in 30 minutes!

Thanks for the tip

Full report please Pete - I am thinking about getting them in to sort out my stone chips.........especially interested to hesr how well they match the Silverstone.

I picked up a card from another company yesterday - I was driving to pick up my car and he was working on a TVR Chimera in Nutley - I stopped to look at the car an the way home and the repair was invisible!

Well the ChipsAway guy came as promised. He does trade work during the week and private stuff on Sundays. He's fully booked tomorrow and I'm away skiing from next Saturday so he's coming here at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday 2nd March. He says he just takes my paintcode from the car, keys it into his computer in the back of the van and the correct colour paint gets mixed on site! It;s going to cost

lol, bloody meteorite showers!

Honestly Steve this sucker is huge, I can only count my blessings it was on the plastic nose of the car and not on metalwork - I'm sure it would have left a hell of a dint

Well I've had Chips Away here most of the day, matching the colour went very well but with the chip being right in the most obvious place the guy wanted to get the finish absolutely spot on so he's taken pains over it.

Here are the before and after images:

The full album can be seen here

The end result isn't 100% perfect (according to the guy) as the OEM finish is just so good (like glass) its very hard to match. That said, anywhere else on the car he wouldn't have struggled half as much...

Isn't it great when you get someone who is as critical about their work as you are. Sadly a very rare occurance these days.

Anyhow, I am really pleased it woked out well for you Tif - what did the guy charge in the end? How long before you can re-Zymol?
