Default Stone chips / paint nicks

I've just been reading a couple of threads on the main boards about stone chips on the nose of the S2000 and thought I'd get some feedback from the UK.

So far my Silverstone paint seems to be holding up quite well, I've had a couple of light scratches that buffed out very cleanly and one bad stone chip on the front bumper.

How many stone chips has everyone found on their cars?

One stone chip on the driver's side wing - in just over a month of ownership.

They seem to be inevitable these days (water based paints). Compared to my other car - deep breath - a 1986 VW Scirocco 1.8 GT with 176,000 miles on the clock, modern paint sucks.

Agree on the supposedly eco-friendly paint

Hi,

I came across an American product called Langka aka "The Blob Eliminator". Basically, you put your couple of coats of touchup paint on, let it dry, looks nasty, and then rub off with langka, it works very well, and you could easily fix these chips to a professional standard. Take a look at the website www.langka.com, they gladly ship to the UK.

I have had the car now 20 months, I only have one just above the front light and it is a very small dent. I think I was lucky espcially when I was doing 60mph and a gritting lorry is coming the other way at about 60mph with no where for me to go to get out of the way.

I have 4 on bonnet, wing and bumper. And I seem to get the stones at the most unexpected moments like..... CRACK! "Jesus! WTF was that and where did it come from?!"

I also have had the windscreen replaced due to a stone chip. So I suppose my count is 5

Plus I caught my neighbours 6" high dry-stone wall with the bumper - extreme lower o/s. That stone dug a big chip out of the paint .

Sounds interesting, but I get a "Page not found" error with that link.
