The general roadsteriness means there's more dust around to stick to the wheel.

Regular washing with a water spray (or steam) and a microfibre is the answer.

Or wash with a MILD leather soap such as Lexol, if it's got that bad. There are matt finish conditioners available these days, but just go sparingly.

Don't sand the bloody thing; it's made of skin and how would you like it?

I do not understand the mentality behind using those rip-off commercial snake-oil impregnated wipes; it's merely building up the problem in layers.
