Stereo wiring - why has ignition feed gone dead?
Fitted an Alpine a couple of weeks ago and it appears that the ignition feed to the stereo has gone dead. I assume there is a fuse to this?
Any ideas why it might have gone?
Have connected it up to the constant feed from the battery for now.
Thanks in advance

The Alpine loom has a 20A fuse in it for the feed from the battery (depending on which model U go for!). You would have to be going some to blow that! Check your wiring!

Steven: That must be what it is then. Do you know what the it is labelled as in the fuse box?
Mikey: Its not the constant feed, which is attached to the battery that has gone...its the ignition feed.

San had this problem when his headunit was plugged into the fuse box and he had a sub connected.
I have always had my head unit connected in this way and never had a problem.
(You don't need to remove fuses to see if they have blown, they are designed to enable you to examine them by looking at the top of them)

This is what is puzzling. I wouldn't have thought that the igntion wire on the HU would be pulling any significant current?
The constant feed is wired correctly, directly to the battery using quality wire.
Will replace the fuse and see if it reoccurs. May try a slightly higher rated fuse. Just concerns me as a fuse blows as a saftey cut out to stop something more significant blowing.
