Default Stereo Question...

I have the stock tape player and are planning to upgrade to a cd player when the car goes in for it's first service and seatbelt recall in March.
Is it possible to get just a single slot cd player rather than a stacker system in the boot.
I want to stick with genuine Honda parts rather than going for something different.
Any thoughts guys.....

Well you could buy a MY2002 CD player Andy but I'm sure you'll get fleeced. MHO is to buy an Alpine CD head unit and dash control interface - about

I wouldn't be too sure unless Andy upgrades his speakers at the same time. Sure, the stock head unit isn't great, but it's held back by the speakers.

Yep, I agree with Tif Andy - whilst understand your desire to keep everything 'Honda' the Alpine solution is much better quality for (guessing here) less money. No wires are cut for the dash interface - it just plugs in.

edited in PS - The stacker doesnt have to go in the boot - I have just had a 6 disk Alpine stacker mounted under the front passenger seat - you wouldnt even know that it is there!)

Hope you guys don't mind me invading your thread . But I have to agree with bmarshall. Speakers are the only thing that actually create the sound and most people cheap out here. They buy a great h/u and amp but overlook the speakers. I know this won't help the tape to cd conversion that you want, but if your going to do it...

Just my 2 cents

If you listen to music a lot, then you should get a stacker.

If you really dont want a stacker, get an MP3 head unit and then you can at least have loads of tunes on one MP3 cd and play ordinary cd's too (albeit one at a time..)

Andy, I believe the 2002 comes with a stock CD unit, I will be changing to an Alpine unit of some kind as soon as I take delivery of the car (getting it fitted at the same time as the alarm), so if you did want one I should have one available soon. You could have that nice and cheap as it will be of no use to me.

I seem to remember, from looking at Benos' 2002 car at the Windsor meet, that his car had been supplied with a single slot CD head unit.
