Steering issue *sorted*

Well it seemed a rack adjustment only masked the problem. Now trying to source a second hand rack, also going to put some hard race rack bushes into the new rack. Noticed that during engine off dry steering the rack does have quite a bit of movement on its bushes, ill update again when the new rack is on.
Thanks!

I was just wondering if it could have been the rack mount bushes but I see that these are in the list for renewal, good luck.

So bit more bad news, Just finished off fitting my new steering rack i picked up yesterday, aaaand, the knock is still there . It's exactly the same noise my old rack had, so either i've managed to replace my rack with an equally knackered rack or it's something else entirely, joy of joys. Nobody else has that same noise with the ignition off yank the steering wheel left and right??

Check that metal connector that connects the rack to the one thats attached to your steering. Teeth could be worn out or a tooth is broken causing it to knock. Check all the teeth on both shafts and the connector

Whoa, I'm gutted to hear you're still having troubles mate.
I can assure you; not that it will help of course, that the rack was good. I give you my word on that!
I wish you the very best with the fix.

Hi,
Not sure if this will help you but when my engine is off if I rock the steering wheel a few degrees left and right I can hear a slight knock, the cars done this since I bought it six years ago with 8000 miles on it, it's done 55,000 now and been through several service and MOT's at the same Honda dealership since I've owned it so I don't think anything is wrong, I can't hear anything when the engine is running though and the steering doesn't feel like it has any slack in it at all.

Ah Bandit that is interesting to hear, How does it compare to the sound inb my videos on page 1? There is no noise in mine either when the engine is running but i would think that is just down to the EPS helping out, there isnt as much stress on the part that is making the noise.

You sure it's not something in the UJ assembly that's knocking?
