Starting-up after prolonged lay-up

Disconnecting the HT leads/coil packs from the spark-plugs I think is probably not the best advice as you will be putting fuel into the engine and not burning it... washing any oil that may be there/get there away.
For me, I'd be inclined to start it as normal. Turning it over on the starter is still going to cause wear on the unlubricated parts... at least once started and running the oil pump will likely be working at its proper speed and pump oil round as it would do normally.

i'd just fire it up and let it idle for a while...
Corgi is correct; unburnt fuel being put into the places that expect burnt fuel. the cats' platinum surface can get stripped out with unburnt fuel.
infact, the only thing i would do is turn it over by hand first, make sure nothing is tight or sticking. very unlikely they'll be an issue after a few months though.

Like I said pull the ignition fuse crank it over until the oil pressure light goes out.
Replace fuse start it up and drive it.
Dont let it idle it needs heat in to the gearbox, diff and brakes.
That is all I do with mine.
