Start light and alarm beep

As for the alarm, wish it would beep when you locked and opened the car. I always find myself checking the doors are locked.

Mine's lit.
Anybody know whether the 04 has internal alarm sensors like the 03? And if so, how do you switch the bloddy things off?
Every time I open the garage door the bloody thing goes off!

There goes the tone of the topic again
My alarm definitely made a LOUD beep the first time I armed / disarmed it after the battery was replaced - echoed around the garage and made the mechanic jump out of his skin (my only recompense after paying

Dude, mine did that to let you know that it had lost the battery. In fact I think it did it for the next two or three times then went back to normal.
I prefer it beepless though.
The button light is very dim and only comes on when you switch the car on using the key i.e. when the button would actually have an effect. You really need to be in the dark (not just mentally ) to see it. Try it tonight and you should be able to see it.

More than likely the beeping is an error code. When most alarms go off (unplanned) they give an error code which is a number of beeps when you next disarm it.
Try setting your alarm off by opening a door, then arm/disarm your alarm. It may well beep then. The alarm in our Mazda definitely does.
