I agree with lovegroova here. Why are so many people telling BMW to tell these people (who Martin has lived near for a while) to go get ?! Is there really a need for such an aggressive attitude?

Like I've already stated, I won't be telling anyone to go anywhere - yes I said something to that effect in my first post as I was slightly annoyed but at the end of the day I get on with my neighbours so don't want a bad atmosphere every time I see them.

Joeh has suggested fitting my oem cat (I know this will quieten things down) but as I've already asked & not got an answer - will my supercharger wreck the oem cat & will I need a remap?

If the answers are no & no then I may well go down that route to keep the peace.

The richer the mixture, the faster your cat will die. There is a halfway house - I bought a silenced decat.

BTW, it was all my fault with your car - parking issue, but then we've talked about this before!

Is a silenced cat similar to the racecat that I had?

I take it if I fitted one of these then no remap required?

Any suggestions as to suppliers / makes / one that will be last more than 3 weeks?

A silenced decat is simply another silencer inplace of where the cat would be. Since it isn't a cat, it has no element to dislodge or expire. It doesn't cost £300 either. Does it provide a much flow as a straight decat? No. More than a cat? Yes. Need a remap? nope.

Where can I get one?

Just been doing some reading on other forums and lots of people are saying they make a big difference in terms of noise reduction which should please my neighbours

You will need a remap since a CAT effects the fuelling and the lowered vtec point and thus timing and fuelling.

Is it absolutely essential not really, you may get a few AFR's spikes.
