Default standard caliper upgrade

Looks like I have the dreaded seized front caliper and was wondering if there is an aftermarket bolt on caliper for the S. Nothing that needs bigger discs, just something like the spoon 4 piston caliper I put on my Integra. I know the stock caliper is good when it is spot on but as I am in for a caliper change I might upgrade them.

As above, you'll pretty much need to get new wheels if you want to use different callipers.

Given you can get refurbs for £60 a pop (£45 if you return your old ones) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LH-Front-B...item56457dd5b1 it hardly seems worth it.

A good lube up once a year will keep them in good nick too.

Thanks for the link LG. EBay on my mobile isn't showing a lot of useful stuff like this. Might just do recon stock calipers but do hoses etc as well.

Why would you want to put heavier calipers on the same size disc - you have nothing to gain from this!!

That is exactly what you need, they are a hell of a price unless you can find a second hand set ..... and there is a limited choice of colours

Consider a fluid upgrade, if fading (usually a track day problem) is an issue.

Aside from being heavy, the stock ones are pretty good.

2 recon calipers, hel hoses and ate blue brake fluid ordered. Should be sorted by Thursday. Just hoped I haven't cooked the discs.

Had a tentative drive home in the car, stopping every few miles to check the wheel temperature and it was fine. No sign of a sticking caliper. Only thing was that I didn't use the brakes heavily. The car had previously been parked for a couple of days unused.

Did you not read the embedded link?
They are still heavier -

'according to the bathroom scale, the Accord caliper is 12.4 lbs and the S2000 is 9.4 lbs.'

The disks he used are the NSX ones which are 2mm smaller than the S2k ones (298 v 300), yet both are 28mm wide. He later upgrades to custom bells and disks but then we are into the realms of a bit more of an upgrade to the brakes than just calipers - which is what the OP was after.

I think a Wilwood caliper would be pretty straight forward on the stock S2000 sizes.

I did think wilwood too but my car is a daily driver so I need something off the shelf now. I do know someone who might be able to help out with a 4 pot kit so I will keep my old calipers back and contact him.
