Default Stalling problem

Hi

I have an intermittent stalling problem (only happened on 2 journeys in last few months, the 2nd one just now on way back from shops)

Drive up and stop and car stalls.
Re-start and it's happy.
Drive on and stop and it stalls again (if it doesn't stall, it idles roughly, struggling to maintain constant 1000rpm or so).
Re-start and it's happy (until you drive on and come to a stop)
Pattern seems to be after being in gear (i.e. driving it forwards) and coming to a halt.

I can stop it stalling by blipping/holding throttle but if I release throttle it will still stall (or try to).

It happened a couple of weeks ago but since then has been fine until tonight.

Tried this map-whack but didn't seem to make a difference.

Any ideas? Car has hondacare warranty so will it be a bu66er to get them to sort (since problem is intermittent). Guessing it needs a new map sensor? or new air filter as that needs doing at next service.

Give the map sensor a tap, that should sort it.

I had a very similar problem, and tapping the map senor sorted it.

Worth a try

As stated, I tried that but it still stalled.
Should I remove the sensor 1st? What really is a tap? playing xylophone force tap or banging the drums type tap

Remove map, give it a good tap with something liks a rubber handled screw driver.

Clean where map sits also, and a quick blow of air.

MAP won't stall the car.

Sounds like an air leak or lambda fault.

I shall be back shortly!

Unlikely to be fuel - nearly all fuel burns even if crap.

Read through the link in my sig and check all those - then report back or we are all essentially guessing.

looking at link, it looks like I should 1st try an ecu reset. however, it implies I should read the codes 1st but do not have a reader. does this really matter as if it re-occurs, it'll be re-logged?

given intermittent nauture, it'll be hard to ascertain if it resolves it as it could be weeks again before it happens again anyway!!
