For some reason, when I lower the driver's side front window, there is a horrid squeaking sound.

Is this something I can sort out myself, or is a trip down the stealer's the way to go...?

Is it when the window is down that it makes the noise or as you actually lower the window that it makes the noise?

Its when I actually lower the window, i.e. when I press the 'lower window' button. The sound seems to be the glass squeaking against something...

Mine used to do this all the time but it fixed itself, still comes and goes occasionally. Sorry I can't be more help.

You could try putting some vaseline on a cotton bud and smearing it down the groove in the window runners.
There is an automotive version of this stuff but i cant remeber what its called.
