Squeaky Bonnet (hood) Catch
I recall a while back that someone suggested how to fix this. Did a search and can't find it.
So, thinking this could be a useful addition to the Tech FAQ, I was hoping someone could outline the procedure to me?!??!

Sounds like something is squeaking in the dash but its actually the bonnet catch. Easy to test as pushing on one side of the bonnet whilst closed produces the sound.
Someone recommened a clean and a grease or the catch (I think) but I wanted to get the procedure down in writing to add to the Tech FAQ.

HI ya
I had the problem about a year ago and I think it was my discussion thread that threw up the fact that it was the bonnet catch. My technical solution was to get the dealer to do it next time i took it in. I think that they just greased it using the well tried technique of wacking grease anywhere around the mechanism that they could get to. I have now trained my local dealer to do this as a part of every service.
Hope this is of some use
Cheers
