Default Squeaking Steering

Hey all,

Recently noticed a squeaking coming from my steering generally when parking for example, maybe I just can't hear it on the road at speed. Sounds like it is coming from outside for sure. Any ideas what this might be?

I suspect you need to grease any joints from the steering wheel coloum to the steering rack. Just a guess.

Are you sure it's not your suspension moving around, anything from a dry ARB bush to a spring shifting around on the perch.

Hmmm good shout UF, could possible be a spring, a noticed yesterday when rolling in netural towards my driveway entrance a squeak coming from I think the front left when going over subtle little bumps in the road...possibly is a coilover issue then.

Cant say I've ever had a dodgy squeak, plenty on here have though. Like UF says more than likely a dry joint, so lube up everything that moves with some white grease, track rod ends, suspension top mounts, lower rubber spring cups(if your OEM), the steering UJ, ARB bushing.

Are you sure its not your tyres squealing on polished concrete?

Forgot about top mounts, they could well be dry or just old and worn.
