Mine whines too I just put it down to 'character'. People often think I have a race gearbox installed lol.

Be good to know if it does, what parts you needed and cost roughly to have done. I don't mind it but I'm guessing it's not ideal long term!

No idea what the bearings cost, or how long the Garage think it will take to do.

Hopefully Squeak will be able to order the parts soon

I'm due to have a chat with the mechanics on Friday...don't think they fully understand what is required

It doesn't look an overly complicated job for someone that is good with engines / boxes .... i.e. a mechanic.

I'm guessing it's going to be 3 ... maybe 4 hours labour.

If you do get it done, it would be good to get photos of the bearings and the names of the locations, an indication perhaps of the characteristics that are possibly just worn parts.
