Aintree summer sprint class 1D, brilliant day with some great folk.
The day started out slowly with me trying to get down to my PB set last year, but after two practice and two timed runs i was well over a second off and missed any opportunity to get some good HSA points .But never fear The Liverpool club pulled out the stops and gave us two more timed runs to count towards the days results and a chance to redeem my snail pace and on my last run of the day i managed to equal my PB of 52.12 this netted me 2nd in class just behind Roger Fish who dropped in a 52.07 on his last run just 3ths shy of his class record.

A bit of a late update but due to a family illness time has just flown by plus i had to pull a few of my entries so Barbon was the last time i was out competing,
Had a bit of a moment on my first run there seemed less grip in the dry than when it was lashing it down a few weeks earlier when i was last there, made steady progress through the day and ended up breaking the HSA record only problem was Mike was well on form and smashed the record so i ended up in 2nd place , well done dude really enjoyed the day sorry i had to rush off at the end,
cock up run , thought i was going to take the timing beam out for a minute,
last run of the day and great to get into the 29's and a PB where i just sneaked under the HSA record but not enough for the win,
not out again till Aintree on the 7th Sept

Sunday will mark my first and only return to Three Sisters this year. I'm hoping the weather holds up and I can make a challenge for the day. Mostly I'm looking forward to next week at Aintree. Sounds like it is going to be a quiet meeting, but at least Ray, Lee and Alex are all there competing. Will be nice to see Lee out again and how he fairs on the new R888's he just slung on. I think Ray is going to show us all up again, showcasing his excellent sprinting skills. I'm just hoping to hand onto his coat tails.

Shelsley Walsh, This was our first time at Shelsley reported to be the oldest Motorsport event in the world using the original layout,
We went down the night before to get a feel for the place and walk the hill, it's a lot steeper than it looks on the videos i had watched of Matt carter in his S2000,
As we were walking the hill we were asked if we were in the S2000's the ones with all the stickers, yes we said, well you best careful it's not a fast and furious track you know a lot of first timers come to , grief here and proceeds to tell us the lines , what are you driving we asked, i'm not i just come to watch,
Morning of the meet there are 19 in our class with all but me and Mike having competed there before and a HSA record of 34.98 so i set my sights on trying to get into the 36's and hopefully in the top 10, i started off practice fairly slow with a 39 which put me around where i wanted to be 9 by. the end of the day i had managed to get that down to a respectable 36.79 which gave me 3rd in class so i was well chuffed with my first visit, Mike on the other hand only managed to win the class with a superb 35.58 only 6ths outside the record so we both can't wait to go back back next year for another crack.
below is a vid of my best time and a couple of Matt Rowe and roger fish who were also there competing for the first time in their S2000's albeit in a different class as they compete in Classic Marques, also 1 off a model A pickup that wasn't much slower than me on my first run and a 6R4 which managed 64ft in 1.78 although i only managed to get a 1.90, still over 1g launch,
