Sprinting at Bentwaters

Sprinting at Bentwaters
Sprinted on Sunday at Bentwaters Park, an unused military airbase near Ipswich in Suffolk. The course is laid out on the runway and taxiways and is relatively simple in layout but very challenging to do well. More of a horsepower track than a a pure handling track.
Myself and Chris in his S2000 were representing Vtec engines at the sprint and the results were pretty good. We each won our class. My best run was my first timed run ( http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=E3x-ryvHfUI ), I was doing better on the second run but the oil light came on which slowed that run down (connector came off the sensor).
On the all important S2000 challenge I beat Chris by a second on the offical timed runs but in the final 'fun' run Chris did an awesome job and beat my time by nearly 1.5 secs. I was expecting to do better after the second run (but don't think I would have matched Chris if I was honest) but didn't quite make the end of the course - have a look here to see why - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=bc66-LJRfxg
Next event is Lydden on the 31st of May so hopefully will see the crew of here if they're racing.
Cheers,
Matt

Very smooth off road - particularly in reverse. It's amazing how far you go on grass when travelling at speed. I reckon I did about 10 quid worth of lawn mowing on that off!
No damage at all to the car, just took 10mins to pull the grass (and one dead bird) out the various bits of underside. Quite lucky as there can be some big lumpy bits and drainage ditches off the side of airfields hiding in the grass.
