Craig is right about lowering springs in general.

Progressive-rate springs are an extra no-no, because the dapmpers are designed to work with single-rate springs. All the other rates on the spring will be wrong.

How are you finding the Nitrons, Craig? They look so good, you should get clear acrylic wings!

I notice the improvement more each time I go for a drive Better traction, far less "floaty" than stock The back end of the car has firmed up a treat

I made a few small adjustments to mine last night and *wow* what a difference.

I have found a big improvement from the steering at the front of the car, on bends where I would get a bit of understeer it just doesn't happen anymore.

What's the ride like, compared to stock?

(I know you're both running 17" and therefore lower profiles, but that's why you need adjustability!)

at level 8 (of 18) I'd say the ride is identical to stock on 17" wheels. I've not tried it softer (for pansies ).

It would seem a bit daft to spend all that dough on uprated dampers and run them like the standard ones after 100,000 miles!

Surely it would as daft as buying a sports car and putting 18" cast iron alloys on it? It's amazing what some people will do

I ran at level 10 for the whole of the Arran meet on some of the worst roads I have ever driven

At speed they were very good but a bit clunky when going over potholes at low speed. I have now tried setting the fronts at level 8, same as Craig has his set, and the ride is much smoother at slower speed.

Just don't Craig.

You've probably inadvertently started the latest trend!

That's rather re-assuring.

It's not the absolute stiffness of the damping that's the fundamental, it should be more its responsiveness and freedom from fade.

I do feel the standard ones suffer from fade sometimes.
