Hi guys. Im looking to get a spoon ecu soon. I've got a clifford aftermarket alarm. Would I need to earth the wire you are talking about. Thanks

Thread resurrection!

I think the earthing was to resolve the immobiliser issue. It doesn't take long or much effort to do. I liked the Spoon ecu.

I imagine you will need to earth out the green/orange (I think?!) wire from pin 15 the same as with a J's Racing ECU. I earthed mine to the ecu mounting bolt and it's fine. Only thing I've noticed is that the fuel pump doesn't just prime and then stop as before. It keeps running with the ignition switched on, at least until the alarm immobiliser cuts in again.

Fitting is easy enough, remove the passenger side sill trim and the kick panel and the rest is straight forward really

And don't tell your insurer that you've disabled the immobiliser....

This is the same as the js ecu with the earthing.

I have sold the js and gone to an aem v2. So much better the car pulls alot harder lower down.

Would recommend it, its not cheap but its worth it if you plan on going for a charger later on.
