sponge between top valnce and rad
hi everyone quick question betwen the radiator and top valance there is a strip of black sponge on my 99 s2000. i think it holding moisture because i have noticed my radiator brackets starting to rust can i remove the sponge or is it important thanks

The radiator esp the top will get hot on top where rad cap is etc, i think the sponge will stop it vibrating/touching the metal and space it out correctly.
I wouldnt remove it, how is the sponge getting wet, maybe water is getting in through the bonnet?

It's not the foam it's just the galvanising on the brackets is crap.
Taken them off wire brush them and Hammerite them!
Leave the foam it is to stop air bypassing the rad.
