The MAP sensor is a small box (about the size of a small matchbox) screwed to the front (top) of the engine (righthand side) - it says MAP on it!

sometimes its just a case of unplugging and plugging back in, some people say that giving it a light smack with the rubber handle of a screwdriver can cure your issue - it does work but I think it cant be good for it!

I had this a few weeks ago. Unplugged the map sensor and cleaned all the contacts up. Plugged it back in (no whacking required) and reset the ecu. Back to normal again - nice cheap fix!

Yep, MAP sensor is strongly related to the fuelling, as it tells the ECU what engine load its seeing. If they are fouled or failing they can cause the fuelling to be erratic. Given its importance im not a fan of anything more than a tap - if it keeps doing it buy a new one.

Lambda sesnors can cause the same problem in off VTEC zone and part throttle.
