1. No idea I paid a professional to hardwire my Origin B2.
2. Before my B2 I had a MK1 Road Angel. It worked great, very easy to use. It did, however miss one or two gatso installations, and at the time I think there were some problems with them keeping their database up to date. I think that has now been overcome from what I've read on various forums. I switched to the Origin for two reasons - the portability, just take the unit out of its cradle and put it in your pocket when you leave the car - and the extra functions, voice alerts, speed limit notifications etc. Not sure if the Mk 2 Road angel has solved these issues though.
with AE - the Tech FAQ is essential reading and a great reference for all those new owner queries.
Enjoy your S

Fuse box has three spare terminals for stuff like this (full deatails in faq )

I don't rate them. Fine for laser detection, but by the time it detects it it is too late. relies on a databases for everything else! So it will not see any portable systems like mini GATSO hand held radar etc!

I have stuck with my Bel990i detector (noisey but it works) and am just sorting an Ipaq with satnav (with the camera and shell garage databases )
