I think you can get round the ECU issue by taping an origional key to the cover of the ECU .. so it's always disarmed.
I have UK clocks (mph/kmph) and nothing else. It switches quite happily.

On the clock front that is good to know, I'll put that on my shopping list.
One UK speedo required ( What do you do about you mileage? or my case Km's)

Just curious. Is the ecu wiring the same for both AP1 and AP2?
My mechanic told me that the rsm wiring for ap1 and ap2 is different because ap2 is dbw.
I have looking high and low for the ap2 ecu wiring diagram. Even Apexi USA install guide (dated 2008) shows only ap1 ecu diagrams. Its kinda annoying that there is no indication whether wiring is the same. Can anyone let me know? Thanks.

There's one way to tell if your S is DBW...look at the the connections to the throttle body, and see if there is a cable attached to it.
If there is a cable, I would have thought that the ECU wiring would be much the same.
IIWU, having confirmed that it is not DBW, have a look at the wiring to the ECU, and see if it matches up with the diagram...this should instill a bit confidence.
One more thing, does the US install guide say which S' the guide is applicable to?
