They are not de-limiters usually, they just divide the speed by 1.6 and convert them form KMPH to MPH. Meaning the limiter is now at ~180mph, not 180kmph.
My replacement one cost

Can you just fit a UK ECU to get around the JDM limiter? I've still got PJL's original ECU for sale.
The clocks will still erad in kmph too .. unless you grab a UK set of clocks

I think you only need to solder the contact on JDM items in order to get the switch to work.
Mine happily switches between KM/h MPH

I think you *can* used a EU ECU .. but I'm not sure about the immobiliser aspect, or which of the two has the safer fuel map for the compression/fuel differences.

Bibbs my man I am afriad to say you can't use a UK ECU on a JDM car, because of the immobiliser.
My question is the UK speedo, if i place that in my car, will the KM/MPH work straight away? As i am planning to do a lot of driving in Europe next year

I think you can get round the ECU issue by taping an origional key to the cover of the ECU .. so it's always disarmed.
I have UK clocks (mph/kmph) and nothing else. It switches quite happily.

I've yet to fiind the 180mph speed limiter much of an issue.
(No, I haven't .. I lost the confidance @ 150 in the wet on the way to Nur. The way it was actually pulling harder the longer I accelerated scared the cr@p out of me. I put it into 6th at about 50 and floored it.)
