Spare key
Hi,
I'm currently in the process of purchasing a JDM S2000 from a used car dealer.
Problem is there is only one key. Dekra, who just finished the vehicle inspection, recommended me to get a spare key. I'm not sure where I can get these from, and how much it will be?
The immobiliser is on a separate key, so I presume the key is just to start the engine?
Does anyone have any ideas or experience with JDM models and their keys?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys, but I'm a complete nooob.
Can someone explain what the Valeting Key is used for?
All I saw with the car is 1 Master key, 1 Alarm remote(with boot release) and 1 Immobiliser key.

I lost my valeting key after I'd had the car two months.
It cost a fortune to replace, and took ages to arrive, all that time the car was left parked in the garage.

The valet key on the S is not red - it is grey.
However, you will not need to get a special key for the S as Japanese modesl do not have immobilisers. The UK ones have the immoibiliser circuit in the ECU and the transponder chip in the key.
Just get yourself a blank key and get it cut - problem sorted.

I remember having a valeting key with my 02 but only remember being given two keys with my 04, neither of which was grey...
(I know that's not the least bit relevant to the subject at hand, but I'm now wondering whether I should be concerned! )
