spacers help please?
Hi
I'm looking at giving the car a bit more stance and wanna run some spacers but I was told buy a friend that the factory studs might not be long enough to still have sufficient thread for the nuts to hold the wheels on,
I'm only looking at 3 or 5mm as my wheels are a good offset already,
is anyone else running spacers?
Also can someone confirm that S's are 5x114.3 or 5x100 as my cars at the garage and I can't measure them ATM
secondly I have seen j's racing and garage-r sell driveshaft spacers,
my car isn't mentally low ATM as it just has spoon springs so do I need them?
If the cars been driven for 6 years since Imported like this is the damage already done?
How can I check to see if I need them & what signs of potential damage can I look for or will the rubber cv boots be hiding it?
Thanks Rob

Wheel spacers you can't go any more than 3mm without extended studs which is a fair amount of work.
The s2000 stud pattern is 5x114.3.
Driveshaft spacers are used to move the spider that sits inside the cups away from any grooves that have been made, if you plan to go lower there recomended to cure vibration, although you may find you get no vibration without them it's pot luck.

Rob, I took the liberty of searching for "driveshaft spacers"
Took me a few seconds
https://www.s2ki.com/search/forums?q...eshaft+spacers
I have them on my car, and they are generally advised for anything with lowering srpings. It's due to the changing angle on the driveshafts. I ran lowering springs for a while on a couple of my S2000s and didnt see any issues, but it's a long term thing.

Thanks I'll bare that in mind got 225 all round ATM I think
I wouldn't bother messing around with spacers, especially not 3mm, since you will hardly notice any difference.
Just get wider wheels (>=8.5-9") and tyres (>=245/255).
If you choose appropriate offsets, you'll be able to achieve your desired 'stance'.

I'm not buying any new wheels as I can't afford them and I like the ones I have
so the spacers ATM are my only option,
it will make enough of a difference as the wheels are close as it is
spacers ordered and will post pics when car is back and they are fitted
