Quality wise, I wouldnt expect it to be up with the TT, what else is. Performance wise, I 'd think they'd be roughly equal,
You have a lot to learn .......

I always thought the TT was a POS and had a *lot* of problems.

Civic Type R is not the same engine, I believe.

As for the second statement, ROFLMAO!

What does 17500 get me in todays market, bearing in mind we are in the depths of winter?
I bought mine 2 1/2 months ago, after much research I decided to buy from a Honda dealer to avoid the stresses of parting with around

Its the engine, noise, rev-ability(if thats a work) and the looks of the thing that have got me in making a potential purchase.
Wait till you've driven one (assuming you haven't) and you'll add the Driving Experience to your reasons why.

In answer to a couple of your questions:

MPG - who cares, you don't buy a 2 seat sports car to worry about mpg .
GT Hard Top - Looks nice on but many people who have one use them less over time, not worth it IMHO
Different specs - The great thing about the S is that it only really has one spec; all with same engine, air con, electrics etc - Multichanger and Hardtop are about the only options. I believe all UK spec cars come with an alarm.

Best of luck buying! Take some time to get used to the way it handles in the winter months, it's nothing like as forgiving as the TT. Although the S does have traction control (in the shape of your right foot )

I know there's a BHP difference but I thought the F20 engine in the S is not the same engine as the 2 Litre engine in the Civic Type R.

Quality - well if a lack of shinny bit counts

Performance - equal well only if your robocop was chipped & more. 157 bhp/ton against 187 bhp/ton is quite a difference.

Corners - Well S2k is rear wheel drive and doesn't have traction control, so you'll have to learn how to drive before you can corner properly.

read THIS for a comparison.

Nice write-up. I'd agree with the comments re. taking a test drive.
