Been spying for a while finally though I'd join. First of all let me say what a large and wonderful forum this is. Never seen one like full of information from literally across the globe. Huge resource for you lucky S2000 owners. Well impressed!

I have just sold my Audi TT after nearly 3 years of blissful ownership. As you have probably guessed by now i am looking for something to replace it with, and guess what? Yup, its going to be an S2000!

I will be taking the plunge this weekend, but have loads of questions I need answers to, and as I'm a lazy sod I couldnt be arsed doing a search so was hoping some of you could advise me.......

1) When did the facelift version come out? 2002, but when?
2) What should I look for to tell the diference between the two?
3) What is the difference betweenteh GT and standard car?
4) I pressume aircon is standard?
5) What does 17500 get me in todays market, bearing in mind we are in the depths of winter?
6) What sort of MPG can I expect on a day to day basis?
7) Whats the hood like? Is it worth getting a hardtop?
8) Are they all 6 speeders?

1 not sure but it will have a glass rear window

Have you driven an S yet?

It's a totally different car to the Golf, although interior quality (and space) is unfortunately not to Audi standards IMHO.

No not driven one yet. Although had a blast in a collegues civic type r, that engines got me hooked!

Quality wise, I wouldnt expect it to be up with the TT, what else is. Performance wise, I 'd think they'd be roughly equal, althoguh corners who knows?

Its the engine, noise, rev-ability(if thats a work) and the looks of the thing that have got me in making a potential purchase.

Yes, but UK supplied cars have a special alarm to meet CAT1 standards IIRC. The Honda UK alarm is reputedly a POS.

Cheers, yeah did notice that one.
Very nice colour, but mileage is too highwant to stick below 30k, 20k idealy.

You will probably be able to get an 02 for that money, they have a glass screen, 2 extra speakers, a few other cosmetic changes and a slightly different suspension setup. There was another facelift in 2004.
