Default Some ICE questions ...

Took delivery of my second hand March 02 model a month ago. It is fitted with the standard (single CD) head unit.

I have had a quick hunt through the forum but didn't spot any topics that specifically answered my questions.

I am considering two possible options :-

1. Fit a DAB unit, preferably one with MP3 playback.
2. Fit a 6 disc CD changer.

With option 1, my concern is the operation of the dash controls. I saw reference on the forum to an adapter that ensures these will still work. Can anyone point at a source for more info? The other thing is the aerial. Presumably there is no problem swapping the bee sting standard aerial for a DAB/FM model?

Re option 2, is there a concise list of changers that are compatible with the Honda HU? I'm not inclined to shell out

Alpine do an adapter for Dash controls (KCE-856B?) so most people go for Alpine head units.

The head unit I have is plays MP3 and it can also take an Alpine DAB adapter IIRC.

There are *no* CD changers that are compatable with the OEM head unit apart from the Honda one but you should be able to get an Alpine MP3 changer for less than

SteveM is spot on - check the kit in my signature. The HU is DAB ready as well as being MP3/WMA compatible as is the interchanger! This Alpine set up can be used to drive existing or replacement speakers as well as component speakers with the addition of an amp! Most people don't bother with the amp route.

Shiskine,

Note that the Alpine HU's although DAB 'ready' require an additional DAB receiver from Alpine (TUA-T100DAB) to pick up the digital signal. Last time I looked for one of these it was something like
