Default Sold it - moved on!

Well, after a year, I've sold my S! Things have moved very quickly this week and yesterday was the crunch day.

I bought my car last June, six months after a roundabout misjudgement wrote off my first S on Xmas Eve 2005.

TBH, I drove my second one so carefully I got overtaken by nuns on bicycles. Twitches on ice and in the wet last winter had my heart in my mouth! I decided I would not do another winter in an S2000, so the plan was to enjoy the summer and trade in in the autumn.

I loved the VTEC, looks, image, exclusivity, driving with the roof down unless it was pouring and the sense of community. However, having binned one, I never had the confidence again to really use the performance.

Then, this week, an opportunity arose. My brother, who is in the trade, pointed out that this is a good time to sell a convertible, that the book price of my S had gone up by

Sorry to see you sold your S. I had a similar experience where i crashed it in the rain and it really put me off for a while, got back into it again and loving the great weather. Hope you enjoy your new wheels

Best wishes to all,

And to you to Dave.
Sad to see anyone loose out to a lesser beast. Be sure to enjoy the new motor.

But don't be silly, there's no such thing!

Especially as "Kids can come too."

Kids can come too.
I'm not sure I'd class that as a "gain"!

Good luck with the new motor.

OK, maybe "ignore the weather performance" gives the wrong impression - I agree there's no such thing but in an S I found myself VERY sensitive to the damp, surface water, etc.

Came home tonight in light rain without breaking sweat whereas I would have done in my S.
Doesn't mean I'm less aware (having had an S2000 I would say I'm more aware than many) but an R32 is less likely to respond adversely to standing water, for e.g., which is what I meant.

Thanks for the messages all - much appreciated! So far I'm delighted with the Golf - it's a very civilised place to be - but I swear the fuel guage moves away from full before I get off the garage forecourt!
