Soft top split

Soft top split
Hi folks
My soft top has a small split behind the driver's window (see photo below). On the passenger side the vinyl covers that little metal bit protruding through whereas on the driver's side it does not.
From your experience does this problem tend to get worse quite quickly or is it a slow decline? And is there any preventative measure I can take?
I can't see that this very small split can be too detrimental with water leakage like one further up the roof, but just thought I'd check.
Many thanks.

I'm not sure if your roof is running the right side of the roof guide, there's a thread some where with pictures of where you can push and bend some of the plastic...
edit:
I think this is the thread I was thinking of:

I posted about the same problem recently but got no definitive answers:

However I did get a reply about it from a hood specialist which can be seen below.
The passenger side looks perfect, but the driver's side looks as though it is being stretched, and possibly fitted incorrectly, hence the extra tension which is causing the stretch.
Driver's side:
Passenger side:
I contacted a hood specialist called Surrey Car Interiors (including pictures of the problem), as recommended by someone on this forum as they have experience with S2000 hoods.
I obtained the following reply:
"Geoff has looked at the pictures and believes that unfortunately, this is more than likely usual shrinkage of the hood with age.
Honda use a special material for their hoods (vinyl designed to look like cloth) and we cannot match this to patch it.
We would not advise removing the hood to adjust or refit if the hood is reaching the end of its natural life."
I also took it to my usual mechanic and he concurred that there does not seem any further adjustment for the hood that he could make.
So, it doesn't look like much can be done about this. I'm just going to use mine lots this summer, and as it deteriorates, I will get a new roof fitted when the time comes. I don't think it is worth the labour charges of someone trying to refit an old tired roof, when you may as well buy a new one for the extra that it would cost and the longevity it would provide.
