Default Soft Top isn't closing

As the title says, I took off the hard top to enjoy some of the sunshine we had at the weekend and when getting home I thought I'd just pop up the soft top and leave the HT in the garage for a while... This was not the case :/

I've checked the fuses and all seem fine, none have blown, so what's the problem? Is it the motor? if so how much am i looking to spend to fix this issue?

Thanks!

If all fuses are intact the only thing I can think of is either you forgot to pull up the handbrake (don't think so) or either the handbrake switch for the soft top is not working. I suspect that when you pull the handbrake a switch or something engages and let you use the soft top function. I have not heard of any failures in the soft top mechanisms so I just believe is that

Is the soft top security button jammed in that sits in the brushes on the drivers side? If that is stuck in then it disables the roof from going up IIRC as a safety mechanism when the hard top is fitted.

isn't the actual switch the centre console common for failing and causing this?

is your passenger window working,if it is that rules out the soft top control unit.
