Default Soft top daylight, my turn.

Just washed the car, doing the inside and looked over my right sholder and saw 2 specks of daylight. Car is a 2006 and has lizard skins but I suppose its around the right time.
Anyone got a scrap of roof fabric I can scrounge to do a repair?

I've got a bit of roof fabric left, I've sent a few prices out before for repairs to people's cars. How much do you need and I'll see if I've got enough left.

Hi,

I have a 2004 with the inevitable additional "sunroof" tear over my right shoulder. I tried stitches, tape etc a couple of years ago, but with only temporary results. I then used a product called Stormsure. It's used to repair wet suits etc, a flexible waterproof "glue" and it's held up for 2 years and the tear hasn't got any bigger. Hope that helps!

Thanks Rikki, the older threads say to use copydex as the adhesive, somthing with a name like stormsure instills more confidance and will be readyly available down here.

I bought it on amazon and it came in a small tube. I used it directly on the tear on the inside of the roof and let it dry, and then used it to attach some fabric on the inside so the roof bracket doesn't rub directly on the tear. I've been suitably impressed, worth a go. Not sure about the copydex, but hey stranger things have worked!

Might pay to see if someone having a roof replaced can keep the old material for patches.Or see if Jack Smith in swansea has an old roof.
