Default Soft Top cleaning question?

I know this has been discussed at length on here but alll my searches date back to 2002/ 2003!
This is my first soft top and wondered what the current favoured potion is for cleaning and protecting the soft top?
Was in Halfrauds the other day and saw and Autoglym soft top cleaning kit for 20 quid... Almost bought it but didnt... did and autoglym search on here and read a few bad expereinces!!

So what do you currently use? Cheers folks...

A commonly used item by S owners is Aerospace 303

I used the Autoglym Vinyl Bumper stuff on mine when I had it and it did bring the roof back to looking very good, and beaded water nicely. The only problem was when it rained, it left streaks down the side windows..

The Autoglym is for fabric tops the S has a woven vinyl so dont go there. I've only used Aerospace 303 it gives a nice matt finish and turns gray back to black. But you will need to presure wash it after a week or so as it will leave a residue that gets on the windows, after that it's fine. It also has a realy high UV protection that will make the roof last longer. You can get a cleaner/protectant kit for around £20.

I use the 303 stuff. First time I've used it as I've only had the car a couple of months. But yeah, it left the windows a right mess everytime it rained Note to "Growler", if you use 303, do NOT use the spray top that is supplied with it. I did.......for the next blah blah hours I was cleaning and waxing the bodywork as the spray went all over it, and it's a biatch to get off.

HTH,
Chad.

cheers folks, good info there... Had a look at the renovo stuff and will check out the 303 stuff too.. Wasnt sure if roof was vinyl or not so that clears that up...

Just out of interest can the vinyl roof be patched? Got a tiny hole both driver and passenger side at bottom of what would be the b pillar if it had one! my thought was a small neat patch may prevent hole gerting any worse?

Trick to using 303 is to use as little as possible, let it soak for an hour, then go out and remove any excess.

I agree with Spies, use as little as possible but also put it on with a sponge

Use renovo, its very easy to apply no mess, 303 is a little tricky.
