soft top
hey guys.
i did a search on the forums but got no recent enough results.
i was wondering if anyone had purchased a replacment soft top from ebay like this one from the states?
click
seems like a "too good to be true" deal to me.
my hood is starting to look very tired. im going to wear it out over the winter period then install a new one around spring time.
has anyone got one of these hoods or something similar?
cheers

And fitting costs if you're not going to fit it yourself.
I am going to replace my hood in the new year. I will probably opt for a Monsoon hood or find one in a breakers yard which is complete with the frame.

I looked into shipping from the states when organising a hood GB.
The price + import duty etc is OK, but factor in around £200 for fitting if not doing it yourself. If you are doing it yourself, it can take over a day as you'll be unfamiliar with the procedure. There are those who have done it in a full day, which is good going
It would also be a PITA if there is a problem with the one they sent you if you had already removed the old one...which could render your car off road for quite some time if you don't have a Hardtop.

the hood including shipping from the states works out at 254 pounds
25% import duty it finalises at 305 pounds.
thats a big saving compared to a monsoon hood costing 690 pounds.
this is why im doing some research into these hoods to see if they are any good...
has anyone baught one off ebay?
cheers

Monsoon's Mohair with heated rear window is undoubtedly superior to vinyl and a plastic window.
I've not heard of anyone in the last year or so of buying a hood from the states...if that helps you at all.

I have a soft top in my garage that i want to get rid off.
Its attatched to a good condition frame, no motors though. The roof its self needs a new rear window which can be done for under £100 and as a small rip where the hood joins the car and front drivers window but again, can be repaired.
First person to offer £50 can come collect it. Located in Bournemouth.

I thought Monsoon where very expensive.
I have just bought a OEM 2008 hood on the frame work with new motors and got it installed at a reputable hood fitting company. Complete cost was £528.
Call the guys at www.japperformanceparts.com as they had another hood their. The one I bought from them is in brand new condition, it even came with the honda dealership sticker on the rear window and all the gubbins for the heated window. delivered next day for £300.
Here is a pic of the fitted item.
