Default Smoked my brakes

Had a session on Anglesey this evening, ended up with my front o/s brake smoking

I know the pads and discs are shot anyway, this was their last hurrah - but searching around would appear to suggest a stuck caliper as the cause rather than just over doing it. Is there good way to be sure before stripping them down?

Cheers,
Scott

Fronts are a hell of a lot easier to rebuild (if you need to that is) than the rears! Which are a devil sent job!

Wasn't looking to rebuild, was looking at picking up a set of refurb ones really. Seems to be some resistance there when spinning the wheel, and it was much warmer than the n/s wheel after a short run this morning.

Sounds exactly like what I had when front left caliper seized. Smoking after a long run, a lot warmer on a regular run than the rest and resistance when spinning freely. Thankfully the refurbs are easy to get and not overly expensive.

Is the ATE Super Blue worth having over something like Castrol React (Response). I can get it for £10 a litre from ECP with their current promotion, as far as I can tell it'll just need changing more often?

As a regular-ish track dayer, I get the fluid changed annually (I use Motul RBF600) - I'm sure the super Blue would be fine with that sort of change schedule.

Annual is fine with me, seems a good buy at this price - just a shame there's no stock at my local will have to see if I can get it delivered in time for the weekend.

Also have a look at some better pads - Ferodo DS2500s and Dixcels seem to be the most popular.
