Default Smashed number plate

Went swimming with Amanda this morning.

We parked right outside the door to the pool and I said jokingly to our friend Mark who was working on the reception to keep an eye on my car 5 minutes later he comes to see me and tells me that someone has reversed into my car So I go and stand on the street with a towel on - brrr - and see that it's only a smashed front plate and tell the guy to leave his name and address with Mark at reception and I'll check the car out properly and send him the bill.

After I'd finished swimming I go and have a chat with Mark, who tells me that the guy hit my car so hard that he saw my car move - handbrake on, in first gear - and then tried to drive off Mark (also a car nut - owns a Scooby P1) jumped over the counter and started hammering on the guys window until he stopped and admitted to it.

TBH I probably wouldn't have been bothered, but the fact that the guy could easily have smashed my bumper and then driven off without stopping, really pisses me off.

Rant over.

BTW Should I stick with S200 ONL or go to S200ONL now that I need a new front plate?

Moggy

Too many private plates on the road these days IMO. And I can't be arsed getting stopped for having the numbers spaced incorrectly. At least with S200 ONL it doesn't look like a private plate to those not in the know.

Check the bumper *really* carefully, if you haven't already.

My back bumper has, apparently, had similar treatment in the past, and now has lots of kinda ridged areas where the plastic was pushed in and sprung out again. Looks rubbish, when you get close up to it.

If the guy hit it that hard there could well be areas like this on there which his insurance oughta be paying for..

At least with black cars you don't get the crazed effect where the dirt gets in the cracks in the paint and makes it look worse and worse over time!

TBH Tim my front bumper is a bit of a mess these days anyway, lots of stone chips. I'll get it fixed before I sell the car. He could have done me a favour if he'd cracked it.

I've taken the number plate off and there's definitely no other damage to the car - all the shut lines look perfect.
