A while back I recall some one (ruckus?) posting info on a very slim high quality sub woofer.

Any one recall it or can suggest one!?

I'm thinking of freeing up some boot space and putting one under the carpet in the passenger foot well.

I know this has been done before and I know there is a foam wedge under there I can replace with an enclosure.

Any one any good with fibre glass?
Sorry Mikey somehow i missed this which is amazing really because normally anything with 'Sub' in the topic (whether out not its the Bass kind or the Sex Slave type ) would have had my full attention.

The subs your thinking off are the 'Phase Linear' Aliante range, there Flat diaphragm subs. Thay do 8" up to 15" Not the most powerfull subs but very good for a SQ set up.

http://www.phase-linear.de/produkte.asp?p=...w=serie&lang=EN

The best being the Aliante 12 Neo i think, now although they state that the subs are designed for bass reflex or sealed enclosures, I know for a fact the work very well free air or in very small sealed enclosures ( just dont feed them to much power). Prefect for a under/behind the seat install.

Thanks for that!

I'm not actually going to put it under the seat.

I thinking of under the carpet in the passenger footwell. There is actually a foam wedge shape for the passenger to put their feet on under the carpet.

IIRC a guy on the US forum has also done this.

Edit - Something like this with out hacking the chassis about!

Thats a W7 they have one of the biggest magnets on any sub in the floor of a smart!!
We cut base of the battery box out (which was that side) and the sub breaths under the car through a tuned aperiodic membrane .....
