this site says my VIN is invalid...

hi guys
I have just been trying to edit my persoanl profile and it wont accept my VIN number... the number is JMAP11****000828.
17 letters/digits in total. The error message im getting tells me that the VIN is invalid. any help would br great...

Sorry, can't help on this one. I assume you have bought it. Is the car new or s/h ? If it is s/h then maybe the previous owner was a board member and it was already registered on this site undersome elses name.

thanks for the link, the VIN is already registered although I am now the owner of the car... what can i do to remedy this? other than call the guy up and ask him to cancel his account?
