Not as expensive a mistake as once dropping my wedding ring into a fireblade gearbox and only realising when the engine was back in the bike...
Any more engine based mishaps?

To be fair, eldest child is 10 and said afterwards he wondered why I hadn't put that bolt back in but didn't want to ask.

He loves tinkering and has no problems dismantling his MX bike at every opportunity.

His mum has had to put up with engines in the kitchen and round the house for over 15 years so she's thrilled to see it's now a family tradition.

Excellent!

How's the car going Gary? I'm sick of the Clio already! Going to run it for a few more months and then change I think!

Ha great story!!

Made me think of when i was showing the missus how to do some wire brushings in the garden. Lets just say i nearly ended up needing stitches and a tetanus jab.

You have got to laugh! well she did

I changed the oil in a mk4 Cortina at the roadside outside my Mums house and forgot to remove the used oil conainer, then promptly ran it over splling it all over the road (a main one). I ended up using all her persil to try to get it to disperse before a bus slid on it
