Default Silverstone Paint

My S is currently in the process of getting bodywork sorted and a full repaint. I told the garage to call me before they paint the entire car as i understand there are a number of differant variations of Silverstone.

What is the best colour and how can I choose the same colour that come out of the factory

Thanks in advance.

I suspect that from the factory there is one colour code. For which the UK paint suppliers may have multiple versions. That seemed to be the story with my moonrock which I had the roof painted at Chiswick, they had moonrock that had more purple or more green. I doubt that HUK stock paint from the oem supplier.

If you're getting the whole car done it's not really going to matter. Get that black roof done at the same time.

I like the black roof. It looks good with the black Mugen bonnet and it will be easier to sell if I do decide to get shot of it in the future.

You could get them to match whatever is on your car now

there's differences in whatever came from Japan originally too, a prefacelift Silverstone looks different than a facelift, my hardtop looks different than the rest of the car, etc...

As long as they paint the whole lot in one go I doubt there will be any problems

I've always given the paint code within the door shut of the car and it has come out fine, this is with two independent bodyshops.

I've got Halfords to mix up the paint using the paint code and it came out a lot darker than Silverstone....speaks for itself really.

Haroon - I got a paint stick from Honda for my MY05 Silverstone the other day and the pain match is really good. I'll PM you the code when I get home if you want?

The stupid thing with silverstone is there are three different shades covered by seven different codes because of different fleck size! I had a chips away guy do a repair and he had swatches and got the colour spot on.
