It's what parent toddler spaces are for isn't it?
Just been to my local ASDA and made use of one of these bays

I learnt the hard way about parking dents and dings. I'd been used to driving a GRP Lotus that was bullet proof and always parked as close to the entrance as possible.

Carried on this habit when I got my S and ended up with corrugated flanks. Luckily my garage was swamped by a tsunami and my car had to go into the bodyshop. It came out in better condition than when I bought it. I now have my own parking spoace at M&S that couldn't be further from the entrance. Causes a lot of hilarity with the car-cleaning guys I see there regularly. (No, of course I don't let them clean my car!)

Wish I had known how vulnerable the S is to parking damage when I first bought it.

I brought my 4 year old S2K 4 months ago with ZERO door dings in it!

I still have no door dings and use it every day; to-from work, gym, shopping, nights out, visiting friends etc

i'm so paranoid about keeping it in the condition its in I dont care how far I have to walk to wherever I'm going

I had a training course in the middle of Reading earlier this week, I enquired about parking in advance! - no parking, just a nearby NCP - sod that, - so I drove to the hotel I was staying at, parked it at the back of beyond, and got a cab to/from the training centre so I didnt have to leave my car in a multi-storey

I prefer the "Honda sports cars only" parking bays at work>>>

That's a different thing entirely, I would never park in a disabled space. There's a good reason for them being at the front of the park. I bet if parent toddler spaces were at the back of the car park the only people using them would be us S2000 owners!

I have found parking in a tight space as opposed to a wide gash of a space means the person next to can't gather momentum with their door and therefore can't dent yours.

Just an observation!

But more chance of your car being scratched by the other persons shopping, jeans, keys, pram or whatever. Not least to mention when they reverse out of the space and leave a nice long gash down your car!

I've found the S2000 to be pretty resilient compared to some cars I've owned. I'm the same though - always parking miles away from anyone.

when i park mine i completely wrap it in bubble wrap amd cotton wool.

as a result i dont go out much.

i am more conceren about stone chips on the front than door dings.
