Are people suggesting that 156mph would have been okay with two hands on the wheel?

As to him getting a hot shot lawyer - wouldn't any of us in the same situation?

I'm aware of several people who will try anything to get out of a fixed penalty notice let alone a custodial sentence.

He knew they would throw the book at him, so he defended himself as best he could within the confines of the law.

I thought they couldn't prove it though? Something about the phone records showing he wasn't using it at the time?

I'd say the fine and ban are about right, I don't see how a custodial sentence is justified for a motoring offence like this, no one was hurt, no one is out of pocket - it was purely a risk. Yet people who commit robberies etc get away with slapped wrists? Justice my arse
