Default Should i be worried?

my mum bought my s2000 from the dealer brand new 09 plate with only delivery miles on it.

I bought it off her earlier on this year, it now has 12000 miles on it, i daily drive it, the first 5-10mins in traffic, and then 15 mins of motorway miles resulting in a 30mile round trip every day, since i have had it i have not had to put a drop of oil in her?! the oil is clean and the car has been serviced and mot'd, i have read that the s2000 uses a lot of oil and im thinking maybe i should be worrying/paranoid?!

i have previously had a 95 del sol that drank oil, an 04 civic type r that used 1ltr of oil a month, and then an imported dc5 that in 1 1/2 years of ownership never used a drop of oil.

Is it just that different cars use more oil than others? i know the s2000 has been carefully bedded in for the first 10000 miles could this be something to do with it?!

please give me your opinions on this or you can just point an laugh at me for my stupidity

Oil consumption is not a problem on later models. I never had to top up my 05 model in 50k miles.Just change it regularly.

You can all laugh at me too well because I'm in a similar situation as the OP. Oil level hasn't dropped since getting it 2 months ago

I'm kind of glad this thread has popped up. Thanks Ash

Sounds like your mum has sold you a duff car!

Only joking, 04 onwards seem to use less / no oil.

i think its all about the way you drive it. My AP1 drinks oil, especially in the summer, when I drive it hard, but with a lot of motorway cruising or city driving it won't use a drop.

Mine's not too bad.

'Lude likes oil. It was the first application of FRM bores and it's improved with production refinements.

Some 2009 owners might feel it's too improved & would prefer more oil useage & fewer blown engines, but they're in a very small minority...

Be more worried about engine failure(sadly happening too often on 08/09 models) than lack of oil consumption. Read the thread "Jenson goes for a drive"

I thought the same when I had mine. Checked it every week and it just never seemed to eat oil. It's going down slightly now, but that's after a fun 650mile round trip to Cornwall, with plenty of vtec.

Just do your regular checks and enjoy the car, nothing to worry about imo
